Fiberglass Piranha kit cars were later produced by Allied Industries, a kit car company in Lincoln, Nebraska. After AMT cancelled the project, Allied acquired the body molds and modified them to fit a VW chassis. Later, the company changed it's name to Aerospace Engineering and continued to offer the kit. A revised version was offered later by a company called XL-100 Inc., this time called the "Sea Gull." The various modifications to the "Sea Gull" include larger headlights and openings, no front trunk opening, more upright windshield, no door openings, small "T-top", and angled rocker panel area. Other modifications include a raised area in the engine cover and the addition of side marker lights. Some time ago, I was contacted by a gentleman from Texas who owns an unbuilt Seagull body. He sent me a bunch of photos, two of which are shown below. I have since lost his email address. If the owner of this body reads this, please drop me another line!
